Access Control Provides Security

Access Control, by definition, is the selective restriction of access to a place or other resource. Our clients primarily use access control to restrict entry to an area of their facility with a doorway. Walsh Door & Hardware specializes in restricting access through mechanical means such as commercial door locks and keys. Walsh Electronic Security restricts access through card readers, electrified locks, and exit devices.

Access Control Benefits

A credential (card, key fob, or biometric object) is presented to a reader, it then sends the credential’s information to a computer and grants or denies the request to enter. Some key benefits of an on-line access control system:

  • No re-keying costs for lost or stolen keys
  • Remote opening of doors from a mobile device
  • Real time monitoring of door positions
  • Complete control of access by door, date, and time
  • Cards are simple and low cost
  • Employees / students can be immediately and easily deleted from system
  • Can allow for automatic lock-down
  • Can interface with HR and directory services

Walsh Electronic Security provides access control through card readers, electrified locks, and exit devices.
